Version 1.0 · 2 September 2026
This privacy policy explains how Alenta AS processes personal data when you use Alenta Charge.
1. Data controller
Alenta AS, Norwegian organisation number 916 797 648 MVA, is the controller of personal data processed through Alenta Charge. Our address is Tøttaveien 1, 8514 Narvik, Norway. Privacy enquiries can be sent to charge@alenta.no.
2. Information we process
Depending on how you use the service, we may process contact information such as your email address, user and business information, charging point and location, session start and end times, energy consumption, pricing and payment information, payment references, receipts, technical events, IP address and necessary security and system logs. Where a vehicle, registration number, project or cost centre is associated with a user or charging session, we may also process that information.
3. Payment information
Payments are processed by our payment provider. Alenta Charge does not store complete card numbers, CVC codes or other full card credentials. We may retain necessary payment references, status, amounts and masked information used to document and administer payments.
4. Why we process information
We process personal data to provide and administer the charging service, identify the correct charging point, start and stop charging sessions, calculate prices, process and document payments, send receipts, provide charging history, support business and invoice users, provide customer support, prevent misuse and fraud, troubleshoot and secure the service, and comply with statutory accounting and documentation requirements.
5. Legal bases
We process personal data where necessary to provide the service or perform a contract with you, to comply with legal obligations, or based on Alenta AS' legitimate interests in secure and efficient operation, troubleshooting and prevention of misuse. Where consent is required, it will be requested separately and may be withdrawn.
6. Sharing of information
We share personal data only where necessary to provide or secure the service, for example with providers of payment services, hosting, email, charging infrastructure and technical operations, or where disclosure is legally required. Providers processing data on our behalf must be subject to appropriate privacy and security obligations.
7. Transfers outside the EEA
We seek to use providers and processing arrangements that provide an appropriate level of data protection. If personal data is transferred outside the EEA, the transfer must rely on a valid mechanism under applicable data protection law, such as an adequacy decision or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses together with any necessary supplementary measures.
8. Retention
Personal data is not retained longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. Information forming part of accounting or payment documentation is retained for the period required by applicable law. Technical logs, account data and other personal information are deleted or anonymised when no longer necessary, unless further retention is required to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
9. Information security
We use technical and organisational measures to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, loss and misuse. Access is restricted according to need, and security-relevant actions and technical events may be logged to protect users, charging infrastructure and the service.
10. Your rights
Under applicable data protection law, you may have rights to access your personal data, correct inaccurate information, request deletion or restriction, receive certain data in a portable format, and object to certain processing. These rights may be limited where we have a legal obligation or another lawful basis to retain or process the information. Requests can be sent to charge@alenta.no.
11. Complaints
If you believe your personal data is being processed contrary to applicable data protection law, we encourage you to contact us first. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).
12. Cookies and local storage
Alenta Charge may use necessary cookies or equivalent local storage for purposes such as language selection, authentication, security and service functionality. Any analytics, marketing or other non-essential cookies will be handled in accordance with applicable requirements, including consent where required.
13. Changes
We may update this privacy policy when the service, our providers or applicable rules change. The current version will be published on this page with an updated version date.
