Airbnb and short-term rentals
Stop renting out your home with a petrol station included.
You probably would not pay for your guests’ fuel. Why pay for their EV charging?
With Alenta Charge, you use your charger just like before. As the owner you can charge without paying through Alenta Charge, while guests pay for the electricity they actually use – with the guest price and margin you choose.
Free for you to use
No subscription cost to use the solution, and when you charge yourself you do not pay through Alenta Charge. You only pay for your own electricity as before.
Guests pay for their charging
Guests scan the QR code, see the price and pay by card in the browser. No charging app required.
Turn a cost into extra revenue
Guests cover their own charging consumption. You choose the guest price and can add a margin.
Monthly payout
You receive one consolidated monthly payout with documentation. No manual meter reading or calculations.
How it works
If you already have a compatible EV charger at the rental property, much of the work is already done.
Connect the charger
We connect Alenta Charge to the compatible charger you already have.
Add the QR label
Our standard label is visual and self-explanatory in both Norwegian and English. We can also provide other languages or combine two or three languages on the same label.
Guest pays and charges

Why give the electricity away?
Many hosts have already invested in an EV charger but let guests charge for free because measuring consumption and collecting payment has been cumbersome. Others agree a fixed fee or handle payment manually afterwards.
Alenta Charge makes the charger self-service for the guest. No guessing consumption, reading meters or chasing payment after the stay.
Keep the charger you already have
You do not need a new charging installation if your existing charger is compatible. It continues to work for you, your family or other approved users, while paying guests use the payment flow.
You choose the guest price
Set a price that covers the guest’s electricity consumption and, if you want, a margin. EV charging can become an additional paid service instead of a hidden accommodation cost.
No work after checkout
Charging sessions and energy consumption are recorded automatically. No kWh calculations, payment messages or guest follow-up afterwards.
Have an EV charger? Make it visible in your listing.
Many EV drivers specifically look for accommodation with charging. If you already have a charger, do not get overlooked because guests cannot see that charging is available or because payment seems complicated.
Add EV charging as an amenity wherever the booking channel supports it, and mention briefly in the listing that guests can charge on site.
One automated message is enough
Add a short standard message to your guest communication: ‘We have an EV charger. Scan the QR code on the charger, add your card and start charging.’ The page then guides the guest through the rest.
Built for international guests
Our standard charger labels include both Norwegian and English. They are highly visual and largely self-explanatory, with a clear QR code and simple step-by-step guidance. If required, we can provide labels in virtually any language, including bilingual or multilingual versions with two or three languages on the same label. Language, wording and layout can be adapted to the location and its guests.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a new EV charger?+
No, not if your existing charger is compatible with Alenta Charge. Start with the compatibility check.
Do I pay when using my own charger?+
No. As the owner you can use the charger without paying through Alenta Charge. You continue paying for your own electricity normally.
Does the guest need an app?+
No. Guests scan the QR code, open the page in their browser, choose their language, see the price and pay by card.
What do I need to tell the guest?+
Usually one automated message is enough: tell them you have an EV charger and that they should scan the QR code on the charger, add their card and start charging.
Which languages are the QR labels available in?+
Our standard labels include both Norwegian and English and are highly visual and largely self-explanatory. We can provide labels in virtually any language and combine two or three languages on the same label. Language, wording and layout can be adapted to the location.
Should I show EV charging in my Airbnb listing?+
Yes, whenever the booking channel lets you register EV charging as an amenity. Many EV drivers look specifically for accommodation with charging, so make it easy to find.
Can charging generate revenue?+
Yes. You choose the guest price and can set it to cover electricity and include a margin.
How do I receive the money?+
Charging revenue is settled once per month together with a statement.
Can I use it for guests from other booking channels?+
Yes. Alenta Charge is connected to the charger, not one booking channel, so the same setup works for direct bookings and other short-term rentals.
