Brand and model
We identify the actual charger and hardware version installed.
Existing chargers and OCPP
Alenta Charge is designed for owners who have already invested in EV chargers. If the chargers and current setup are compatible, payment and access features can be added without replacing working hardware.
OCPP is the standard many chargers use to communicate with a backend. But OCPP support alone does not guarantee that a specific model, firmware or existing installation can be moved or integrated directly. We therefore assess the full setup before proposing changes.
We identify the actual charger and hardware version installed.
We check relevant OCPP support and whether the firmware exposes the required functions.
We map whether the charger is tied to an existing operator or cloud and what the vendor allows.
The actual OCPP Charge Point ID/deviceId must map unambiguously. Serial number or site ID is not substituted without documented mapping.
A successful connection requires more than online status: authentication, start, physical charging, meter data, stop and a completed session must work.
We do not propose changes to the existing installation before compatibility and the transition path are understood.
The charger is configured for the agreed OCPP endpoint or vendor integration.
Boot, heartbeat/status and correct mapping are verified.
Start → physical charging → meter data → stop → completed session is tested before go-live.
QR, pricing, guest payment and approved user groups can then be activated.
QR and browser card payments, different terms for user groups, session and kWh reporting, multiple locations and monthly settlements. The existing charger becomes part of Alenta Charge without embedding payment logic in the charger itself.
Some manufacturers allow direct OCPP configuration while others use cloud platforms or require an approved integration. We therefore handle Zaptec, Easee and other vendors according to the method the manufacturer actually supports. Compatibility is not promised until verified.
No. OCPP is important, but model, firmware, backend and required functions must be assessed together.
Yes. A controlled pilot with one or a few chargers is often the safest way to verify the complete charging flow.
No. A charger can be online while start, physical charging, meter data, stop or payment still fails.
Tell us the brand, model, number of charge points and preferably which system they use today. We assess compatibility free of charge.
Check compatibilityTell us the brand and model and we will check free of charge whether the charger or charging installation can be used with Alenta Charge. No fixed monthly fee.
